About video game making software

I do have an article all about the different types of software available for video game making and you may want to read this article: What software should you use to make a video game?

There are lots of different software applications for making video games

And one of the hardest decisions you need to make is figuring out which software you should use. But this problem is not really that serious because they all follow the basic structure of making a video game and if you learn how to use one type of software your skills are improved and you will gain a better overall understanding of making video games. And you will be more capable of learning other software as you need to.

Making Video games Does Require the Use of Multiple Software programs

Don't let this scare you. What I mean by this is that if you want to learn about making video games, and make some games yourself you only actually need one program but if you want to get better at it and do more things like make your own characters, creatures, textures and be more sophisticated you will need to learn how to use other supporting programs. Generally you can actually get by with just one program that is a game making program and some good examples of this are FPS Creator, Games Factory, Reality Factory or Genesis 3d. These kinds of programs come with a whole host of pre-created graphics that you can insert into the game - things like objects, furniture, characters and you name it. There are also lots of support websites where you can find even more graphics and objects. But, once you get going in your game making you are going to want to create your own custom images, characters and things. And this is where you would need an image or modeling software program like Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro or Milkshape.

Let's start out by taking a look at some of the easiest software to use for making a video game. The Gamesfactoy 2 software is for making two dimensional side scrolling games.
